Lau Vago

In the "Lin et Or" series, I create a dialogue between the simplicity of raw linen and the brilliance of gold. Warm, natural beige tones meet golden light to create a world that is soft, soothing, vibrant, and harmonious.

I combine several materials such as linen canvas, gold leaf, pigments, and acrylic paint, allowing me to explore a variety of techniques. Some paintings display spontaneous yet controlled free-hand projections  that infuse them with vibrant energy. Others are organized around concentric circles gravitating around a golden center, las  a sun, symbolizing light and inner energy. Finally, some works literally explode with paint and ink on the raw background, conveying the intensity of life to its full strength .

Through this series, I match  strength with fragility, the natural and the precious, the silence of linen and the brilliance of gold, in a quest for balance between grounding and elevation.

In the Serenity series, I explore joyful harmony, the kind that emerges despite cracks, that soothes without erasing. Here, gold becomes a symbol of deep joy and inner richness, while beige, white, and natural tones evoke calm, gentleness, and renewed peace.

I release the gold pigments into the air, letting them settle freely on the canvas in a spontaneous gesture. They freeze in  a suspended dance, fragile and precious.

The circle, which is often present, embodies fullness and balance for me. In the background, the cracks tell the story of our wounds, our intimate flaws. But at the heart of this rugged matter, the circle brings light, joy, and stability.
